Default Few startup questions...
Okay, I know there are alot of "How do I start a free webhosting business?" threads out there, but I just wanted to ask a couple specific things.

Firstly, what should you start with? The general consensus seems to be that you start off by getting a reseller account, then move to a dedicated server. Why is that? Is there something wrong with using a shared hosting account with lots of space/bandwidth, or using a VPS? What're pros/cons to the different ways of hosting?

Secondly, what's a good control panel to use? I'm leaning towards xPanel, but I've heard that it runs slow unless you have a really fast server. I was looking at EasyHost, but that seems to cause more problems than it's worth. Any suggestions or opinions?

Lastly, how much should you oversell? I see some people offering things like 350mb storage and 20gb transfer. That's more than some paid hosting companies offer. So, how much should you oversell? I was thinking of offering 150-200mb storage and 3-6gb transfer, and I want to know what type of hosting requirements I need to still be able to profit.

Most host will not let you resell services without a reseller account. Also, things like WHM won't be there.

I always prefer cPanel/WHM - widely used, acclaimed and wanted.

I would play it by ear - see what you think you can get away with.

Hope this helped.
