my website is hosted by 275mb.com hosting. The host is excellent and i am pleased with everything except i have linking problems. 1st of all the host does not accept .zip files, but i can understand this. But also, tou are unable to visit any file individualy. For example, i upload a small affiliates button, then try and place this on a topsites list. This is not possible beacuse only a small winking face comes up. I think it thinks im trying to do somethign wrong. All im trying to do is access my images. Is there a way to do this?

It sounds like your host has disabled "Hotlinking", which is when a page other than one on your server calls for an image, etc - i.e. this topsites page is looking for an image on your server, but the server is setup to disallow this.

i am familiar with hotlinking being disabled, but most servers do not prevent you from viewing your file when you type the correct URL in the address bar...

ah, didnt realise it was doing that also... maybe thats something you should contact them directly about.

i thought about that, but there hard to get hold of. Also i saw a user called DKM Hosting, which i believe is the smae company as 275mb.com Hopefully he will see this.

This host just want's to have full sites on his hosting service.
Than he can earn from advertising, you see?
So Hot Linking is one way to insure that only full websites are hosted and he can earn from advertising.
